Of oval form with a straight tapering spout and a bright-cut engraved band, the body engraved with a crest. The maker’s mark is rubbed beyond certain reading; the department offers a possible attribution in its file but will not print it in the catalogue.

Marks clear for the date letter, lion passant and leopard’s head; the maker’s mark rubbed. A shallow dent to the lower body at the reverse, roughly 1 in. across. The engraving is crisp and unrubbed. The hinge is sound and the lid seats correctly. The handle is original with an old shrinkage crack at the upper socket. Interior with light limescale, not cleaned.
